Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packaging and clearly labelled with botanical name.

Consignment must be attached with exporter's declaration stating that "seeds are non-genetically modified organisms"

Refer to the import permit for EXDOC endorsement.
If required by the import permit, consignments are to be treated with one of the following combination of fungicides by dipping, fumigation or dusting:

  • Metalaxyl and Thiram
OR
  • Metalaxyl and Captan
Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.


The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

1) Downy mildew of sunflower (Plasmopara halstedii) is not known to occur in Australia.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 656)

1) Greater grain borer (prostephanus truncatus) and Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) are not known to occur in Australia.
