Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Consignment must be clearly labelled bearing the scientific name (genus and species).

Consignment must be covered by a supplier declaration stating that the plants are non-genetically modified organisms.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Consignments are to be treated with an appropriate insecticide and fungicide at recommended manufacturers requirements. Treatment to be undertaken by either dipping or spraying.

1) Strawberry angular leaf spot (Xanthomonas fragariae) and Pierce's disease (Xylella fastidiosa) are known not to occur in Australia,
2) Using official procedures, the mother plants and plants in the consignment were found free of Strawberry mottle virus, Strawberry crinkle virus and Red core disease of strawberry (Phytophthora fragariae).
