Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packaging, and every seed packet or bag must be clearly labelled with the botanical name including genus and species.

Consignments must be accompanied by an attestation by the exporter that the seeds are not genetically modified.

Seeds must be depulped. Seeds from Guam, Philippines and Solomon Islands are prohibited for import.

  • Cadang cadang (Coconut cadang-cadang viroid) is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.

Consignments must be treated prior to export with insecticide and fungicide applied by dusting at recommended manufacturer's requirements (registered label rates).

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
