Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packaging and clearly labelled with the botanical name including genus and species.

Packages must be free of litter, soil, leaves, compost or any other prohibited organic material.

Consignments must be accompanied with a statement from the exporter that the consignment of Annona spp seeds is not Genetically Modified.
Consignments are to be treated with an approved insecticide and fungicide at recommended manufacturer's requirements.
 
Note:
  • treatment is not required for seed exported in commercial packaging of 100g or less per packet.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.


Treatment is only to be certified to on Phytosanitary certificates where the import permit specifically states this requirement. Import permits sighted in which there is no specific treatment details are to be issued with a phytosanitary certificate with no treatment details.

1) Soursop seed borer (Bephratelloides cubensis), Sudden oak death (Phytophthora ramorum) and Bacterial wilt (Ralstonia solanacearum race II) are not known to occur in Australia.
