Soil is not permitted.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Each plant must be labelled with genus and species. 

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsment: 799:

Plants are bare rooted and thoroughly cleaned.

Endorsment: 803: 

Plants are in an authorised transport support media (see New Caledonia schedule of authorised support media. eg. peat, perlite, vermiculite, coconut fibre, sphagnum moss) 0.5-0.6 L maximum, new and non adhesive to root system;

Endorsment: 806:
 
Young plants are set in square cups (9 cm X 9 cm maximum, corresponding to 0.6 L of medium) or in round pots of 10.5 cm maximum diameter (corresponding to 0.5 L of medium). An insecticide and a nematicide treatment must be applied to the culture media.

Endorsment: 884:
 
  • Young plants are set in square cups (9 cm X 9 cm maximum, corresponding to 0.6 L of medium) or in round pots of 10.5 cm maximum diameter (corresponding to 0.5 L of medium). An insecticide treatment must be applied to the growing medium.
  • Plants must be grown in a greenhouse on raised shelves to avoid contact with the ground.
  • Laboratory analyses of samples of growing medium and roots must be made at least twice a year to confirm the absence of nematodes.
  • Results of the analysis must not be older than six months, and results must be included with the phytosanitary certificate at the time of import.
Plants are to be treated with an appropriate insecticide and fungicide by dipping or spraying.

If endorsement 806 is used, an insecticide and a nematicide treatment must be applied to the culture media. The following active ingredients are authorised as nematicides: fenamiphos, oxamyl, dazomet and metam.

If endorsement 884 is used, an insecticide treatment must be applied to the growing media.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the department at time of authorisation.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 799)
1) The plants have been inspected by an authorised officer of the plant quarantine department and found to be free of any visually detectable pest
2) Bare roots thoroughly cleaned.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 803)
1) The plants have been inspected by an authorised officer of the plant quarantine department and found to be free of any visually detectable pest
2) Plants are in an authorised transport support media, new and non-adhesive to the root system.

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 806)
1) The plants have been inspected by an authorised officer of the plant quarantine department and found to be free of any visually detectable pest
2) Young plants are set in square cups or in round pots. An insecticide and a nematicide treatment has been applied to the culture media.

Option 4 (EXDOC Endorsement 884)
1) The plants have been inspected by an authorised officer of the plant quarantine department and found to be free of any visually detectable pest
2) Young plants are set in square cups or in round pots. The growing medium is free of soil and treated with an insectide. The plants were grown in a greenhouse on raised shelves to avoid any contact with the ground. Analyses of samples of the growing medium and roots were made at least twice a year and confirm the absence of nematodes.
