Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
 
All bulbs in the consignment must be dormant at time of inspection and arrive in New Caledonia in a dormant state.
 
If required by the import permit then consignments are to be accompanied by a supplier's declaration stating that the plants are not genetically modified organisms.
 
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Consignments presented for inspection are to be treated with an appropriate insecticide and fungicide by either dipping, fumigation or dusting at recommended manufacturers requirements.

Additionally, bulbs must be treated using one of the following nematicide treatments:
 
  • Bulbs must be dipped in hot water at 45 degrees Celsius for 4 hours (or equivalent).

OR

  • Bulbs must be dipped in a solution of Fenamiphos at a concentration of 1grm per 1 litre for 1 hour or equivalent.

1) The plants have only been grown in, and exported from a country of origin which is free from Pierce's disease (Xylella fastidiosa).
