Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A phytosanitary certificate with no additional declarations is to be issued for seeds that will not be re-exported from the Netherlands.

Australian seed being exported that will be re-exported from the Netherlands may require a phytosanitary certificate with an additional declaration.


Explanation of the endorsement

Endorsement 2165:

  • Seeds must be sourced from an area or place of production free of Witchweed (Striga spp). An area freedom certificate is to be provided as evidence for endorsing freedom from Witchweed (Striga spp).
  • Endorsement 2165 applies to seeds that will be re-exported from the Netherlands to countries in the Eurasian Economic Union.
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Exporters who require a new EXDOC Endorsement for re-export certification purposes are to provide written evidence of the additional declarations that need to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate. Requests are to be emailed to MicorPlants@aff.gov.au for action.
