  • Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) is known not to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
  • A area freedom certificate is required to endorse freedom from kernel rot of maize (Fusarium sporotrichioides).

Endorsement 8290:

  • Applies to consignments treated for Kernel rot of maize (Fusarium sporotrichioides). Refer to the Treatment section for details.

Consignment must be treated with appropriate with fungicide at manufacturers recommended rate (registered label rate).

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

2) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of kernel rot of maize (Fusarium sporotrichioides).

1) Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) is known not to occur in Australia,
2) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from kernel rot of maize (Fusarium sporotrichioides).

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 8289)
1) Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) is known not to occur in Australia,
2) Kernel rot of maize (Fusarium sporotrichioides) is known not to occur in the area of production.

Option 4 (EXDOC Endorsement 8290)
1) Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) is known not to occur in Australia,
2) The consignment has been treated with a fungicide for Kernel rot of maize (Fusarium sporotrichioides).
