Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of endorsement 6719:

  • Applies to import permits that state a requirement for freedom from "harmful organisms" and does not list specific pest species.
  • Visual inspection is sufficient for endorsing freedom from live pests.
The consignment is to be fumigated onshore prior to export with an appropriate fumigant at manufacturers recommended rates.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Where it is stated on the import permit, details of treatment to be endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

Where it does not state treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate, details of treatment are NOT to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate.
