Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 8324:
  • Maize chlorotic mottle virus and Bacterial wilt of maize (Pantoea stewartii subsp. stewartii) are not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from these pests.
  • An area freedom certificate is required to endorse freedom from Ear rot of corn (Stenocarpella maydis) and Dry rot of maize (Stenocarpella macrospora).
  • A crop inspection report is required to endorse freedom from Fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda). The Authorised Officer must also inspect a representative sample of the consignment to verify freedom from all life stages of Fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda).

1) Maize chlorotic mottle virus and Bacterial wilt of maize (Pantoea stewartii subsp. stewartii) are not known to occur in Australia,
2) Ear rot of corn (Stenocarpella maydis) and Dry rot of maize (Stenocarpella macrospora) are not known to occur in the area of production,
3) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free of Fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda),
4) The consignment was inspected and found free from all life stages of Fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda).
