Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Explanation of endorsements

Endorsement 6937:

 No evidence is required to endorse freedom from Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica) and Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium).

Endorsement 7995:

  • No evidence is required to endorse freedom from Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica), Dwarf bunt (Tilletia controversa) and Loose smut of barley (Ustilago segetum var. nuda).
  • A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Bacterial leaf streak of barley (Xanthomonas translucens pv. translucens) and Barley stripe mosaic hordeivirus (BSMV).
  • The shipment has been tested and found free from Leaf stripe (Pyrenophora graminea). 

OR

Endorsement 7996:

  • No evidence is required to endorse freedom from Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica), Dwarf bunt (Tilletia controversa) and Loose smut of barley (Ustilago segetum var. nuda).
  • The shipment has been tested and found free from Leaf stripe (Pyrenophora graminea), Bacterial leaf streak of barley (Xanthomonas translucens pv. translucens) and Barley stripe mosaic hordeivirus (BSMV).

Note:

Xanthomonas translucens pv. translucens  is a synonym of Xanthomonas campestris pv. 


Non-GMO requirements:

If certification is required (refer to import permit/NPPO notification), the exporter is responsible for ensuring that the consignment is accompanied by a Certificate as to Condition attesting that the seed has not been genetically modified.

If requested, a Certificate as to Condition (Grain - GX46/Horticulture - HX46) can be issued for the consignment that is specifically supported from information supplied by the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR) and where it is a government requirement of the importing country for non-GMO certification (refer to import permit/NPPO Notification).

The following text must be added to the additional declaration field when a GX46/HX46 template is added to the RFP:

The Office of the Gene Technology Regulator has advised the department that there has been no intentional release into the Australian environment of genetically modified product(s) listed on this certificate.


Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 6937)
1) Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica) and Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) are not known to occur in Australia.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 7995)

1) Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica), Dwarf bunt (Tilletia controversa), and Loose smut of barley (Ustilago segetum var. nuda). are known not to occur in Australia.
2) The crop was inspected during the growing season and found free from Bacterial leaf streak of barley (Xanthomonas translucens pv. translucens) and Barley stripe mosaic hordeivirus (BSMV).
3) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Leaf stripe (Pyrenophora graminea).

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 7996)

1) Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica), Dwarf bunt (Tilletia controversa), and Loose smut of barley (Ustilago segetum var. nuda). are known not to occur in Australia.

2) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Leaf stripe (Pyrenophora graminea), Bacterial leaf streak of barley (Xanthomonas translucens pv. translucens) and Barley stripe mosaic hordeivirus (BSMV).
