The import conditions apply to the following seed species:

  • Trifolium pratense
  • Trifolium semipilosum
  • Trifolium burchellianume

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.

Seed health testing will be carried out on arrival.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 8193:
  • Clover yellow mosaic virus and Red clover vein mosaic virus are not present in Australia, no evidence needs to be cited to endorse freedom.
  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from White clover mosaic virus.

Consignments are to be treated with an appropriate insecticide and fungicide at recommended manufacturers' requirements.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

1) Clover yellow mosaic virus and Red clover vein mosaic virus are not known to occur in Australia.
2)A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of White clover mosaic virus.
