Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Seed potatoes must be sourced from a nationally recognised seed potato certification scheme. Exporter to provide evidence of certification and present to the Authorised Officer at time of inspection.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure that the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.


Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.


Labeling on bags/packages must include:
  • Lot number
  • Producer's identification number
  • Variety
  • Class
  • Net weight
  • Treatment
The consignment shall not be packed or rooted in earth, leaf or garden mould, compost and farmyard manure of any description, or packed in straw and unsterilized sphagnum moss.

Seed Potatoes must be sourced from Western Australia only.

Exporters should contact Horticulture Exports Program if the conditions on the import permit are different to that of MiCoR.
Consignments are to be treated with wide spectrum insecticide and fungicide.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 2953)

1) The parent plants were inspected during the growing season and found free from virus and viroid diseases,

2) Bacterial ring rot of potato (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. sepedonicus), Potato wart (Synchytrium endobioticum) and Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata) are known not to occur in Australia,
3) Bacterial Wilt (Ralstonia solanacearum) and Potato Cyst Nematode (Globodera rostochiensis) are known not to occur in the area of production.

4) Consignment has been treated with a wide spectrum fungicide and insecticide prior to export.

5) Consignment is free from soil and plant debris.
