Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure the consignment is exported within 14 days of inspection and the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.
Consignments are to be fumigated prior to export with either:
Methyl bromide at :

  • 32 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 30 degrees celsius (under Normal Atmospheric Pressure);

OR

  • 48 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 21 degrees celsius (under Normal Atmospheric Pressure);

OR

  • 56 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 16-20 degrees celsius (under Normal Atmospheric Pressure);

OR

  • 64 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 11-15 degrees celsius (under Normal Atmospheric Pressure);

OR

  • 72 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 10 degrees celsius (under Normal Atmospheric Pressure);

OR

  • With Phostoxin at 1.5grm/m3 for 7 days at 19 degrees Celsius or above.


The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

Alternatively, if treatment is not endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate, the exporter must ensure that the fumigation certifcaite accompanies the consignment. In such situations the phytosanitary certificate will be endorsed without treatment details.
