Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Consignments are to be fumigated with methyl bromide at:

  • 32 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 30 degrees Celsius (under NAP);

OR

  • 48 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 21 degrees Celsius (under NAP);

OR

  • 56 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 16-20 degrees Celsius (under NAP);

OR

  • 64 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 11-15 degrees Celsius (under NAP);

OR

  • 72 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 10 degrees Celsius (under NAP);

OR

  • Fumigated with Phosphine at 1.5 grm/m3 for seven days at 19 degrees Celsius or above.

Import permits sighted that state treatment details to be included on the phytosanitary certificate are to have the details endorsed in the treatment section.

Import permits sighted that do not state treatment details are to be included on the phytosanitary certificate are not to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificated in the treatment section.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
