Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Import permit number and date of issue of the permit must be quoted in the import permit section of the phytosanitary certificate.

Seed health testing will be carried out on arrival.

The exporter is to provide a combination of laboratory testing or crop inspection at active growth or area freedom certificate as evidence to certify freedom from the following pests:
  • Rot of clover (Sclerotinia trifoliorum)
  • Bacterial wilt of alfalfa (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus)
  • Lucerne enation virus (LEV)
  • Alfalfa mosaic virus (AMV).
Note:
  • Alfalfa enation virus (AEV) and Lucerne enation rhabdovirus are synonyms of Lucerne enation virus (LEV).
  • Alfalfa yellow spot is a synonym of Alfalfa mosaic virus (AMV).
  • Bacterial wilt (Corynbacterium michiganense subsp. insidiosum) is a synonym of Bacterial wilt of alfalfa (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus).
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
If required by the import permit, consignments are to be treated with suitable fungicide/insecticide at recommended manufacturer's requirements.

1) The consignment was found free through official testing and inspection procedure of Rot of clover (Sclerotinia trifoliorum), Bacterial wilt of alfalfa (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus), Lucerne enation virus (LEV) and Alfalfa mosaic virus (AMV).
Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 6709)
1) The consignment was found free through official testing and inspection procedure of Sclerotinia wilt (Sclerotinia trifoliorum), Bacterial wilt (Corynebacterium michiganense subsp. insidiosum), Lucerne enation rhabdovirus and Alfalfa mosaic virus.
