Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.

Seed health testing will be carried out on arrival.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of the endorsements
  • Phytophthora root and stem rot (Phytophthora sojae) is a soil-borne fungus and is not found in the Lupinus spp seed export pathway. No testing or inspection is required to determine freedom from this pest.
  • Fusarium wilt of bean (Fusarium oxysporum f.sp phaseoli) is not known to occur in Australia.
  • An area freedom certificate, a crop inspection report or a laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Phomopsis seed decay (Phomopsis longicolla) and Bacterial leaf blight of tomato (Pseudomonas viridiflava).

Consignments are to be treated with an appropriate insecticide and fungicide at recommended manufacturers' requirements.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

1) Fusarium wilt of bean (Fusarium oxysporum f.sp phaseoli) is not known to occur in Australia.
2) The consignment was found free through official testing and inspection procedure of Phytophthora root and stem rot (Phytophthora sojae), Phomopsis seed decay (Phomopsis longicolla) and Bacterial leaf blight of tomato (Pseudomonas viridiflava).
