Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Consignments are to be fumigated with Methyl bromide (under Normal Atmospheric Pressure) at:

  • 32 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 30 degrees Celsius;

OR

  • 48 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 21 degrees Celsius;

OR

  • 56 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 16-20 degrees Celsius;

OR

  • 64 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 11-15 degrees Celsius;

OR

  • 72 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 10 degrees Celsius;

OR

  • Fumigated with Phosphine at 1.5 grm/m3 for 7 days at 19 degree Celsius or above.

If stated by import permit details of treatment to be endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section;

OR

A certificate of fumigation issued by the fumigation company must accompany the consignment.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Note: the import permit may limit treatment schedule to only one temperature/rate. In this case, the fumigation schedule for the consignment must match the one listed on the import permit.
