Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

The seeds must not be packed or rooted in earth, leaf or garden mould, compost or farmyard manure of any description, or packed in straw or unsterilised sphagnum moss.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 6467:
An area freedom certificate, a crop inspection report or a laboratory analysis certificate must be provided as evidence of freedom from Stem and fruit rot of Capsicum (Phytophthora capsici), Bacterial spot of pepper (Xanthomonas vesicatoria), Pepper mild mottle virus and Tomato mosaic virus.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Seed health testing will be carried out on arrival.
Consignments are to be treated with an appropriate broad spectrum insecticide/fungicide at recommended manufacturers' requirements.
