Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

The seeds must not be packed or rooted in earth, leaf or garden mould, compost or farmyard manure of any description, or packed in straw or unsterilised sphagnum moss.

Explanation of the endorsement

Endorsement 7700:

A combination of crop inspection at active growth, area of production freedom and lab analysis certificates may be used to endorse freedom from the following pests: 
  • Black rot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris) 
  • Black leg (Leptosphaeria maculans)
  • Bacterial soft rot (Pseudomonas viridiflava)
  • Bacterial leaf blight (Pseudomonas syringae pv maculicola).
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Seed health testing will be carried out on arrival.

Consignments are to be treated with an appropriate broad spectrum insecticide/fungicide at recommended manufacturers' requirements.
