This ICR applies to all fresh fruit destined for the Marshall Islands.
Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.
The entry of fruit fly susceptible species of fruit is prohibited from all countries where fruit fly’s exotic to the Marshall Islands is known to occur unless such fruit has been subjected to the below approved quarantine treatments.
Consignments are required to be treated with one of the following treatment options:
Methyl Bromide fumigation
- 35grms/m3 at 10 degrees celsius for 3 hours
OR
Heat treatment
- The products must have undergone a heat treatment with HTFA (high temperature forced air) at 45 degrees for 30 minutes
