Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

For seed produced outside Queensland or any other areas where Parthenium hysterophorus and Rottboellia cochichinensis are not known to occur, the consignment must be accompanied by a Phytosanitary certificate bearing an Endorsement attesting to the consignment being sourced from areas free from Parthenium hysterophorus and Rottboellia cochichinensis
Consignments are to be treated by:

  • Fumigation with Methyl bromide at 32 grm/m3 for 2 hours;

OR

  • Fumigation with Phosphine at 2grm/m3 for 120 hours

AND

  • dusting with Metalaxl at the rate of 2.5grm a.i. /1000grm seeds or any suitable fungicide at the recommended rate.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 552)
1) Maize dwarf mosaic virus is not known to occur in Australia,
2) Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus) and Itch grass (Rottboellia cochinchinensis) are known not to occur in the area of production.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 3434)
1) Maize dwarf mosaic virus is not known to occur in Australia,
2) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus) and Itch grass (Rottboellia cochinchinensis).
