Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure that the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.


Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 5795:
  • The consignment must be accompanied by either a seed analysis certificate issued by an official seed testing authority or a Phytosanitary certificate attesting that neither Giant Sensitive plant (Mimosa pigra) and Itch grass (Rottboellia exaltata) seeds were found in the sample drawn from the consignment being exported.
Consignments are to be fumigated with Methyl Bromide at 32 grm/m3 for 2 hours at normal temperature;

OR

Fumigated with Phosphine at 1.5 grm/m3 for 7 days at a temperature above 25 degree Celsius;

OR

Fumigated with Phosphine at 1.5 grm/m3 for 10 days at a temperature between15 to 25 degree Celsius.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
