Explanation of endorsement 690:
- Potato cyst nematode (Globodera rostochiensis) is not on export pathway and Pine wood nematode (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus) is not known to occur in Australia. Freedom from these pests may be endorsed on a phytosanitary certificate without citing supporting evidence.
Each consignment shall be fumigated with:
Methyl bromide
- 64 grm/m3 at 21 degrees Celsius or above for 24 hours;
OR
- 72 grm/m3 at 16 - 20 degrees Celsius for 24 hours;
OR
- 80 grm/m3 at 11- 15 degrees Celsius for 24 hours;
OR
Sulfuryl Fluoride
- 64 grm/m3 at 21 degree Celsius or above for 24 hours;
OR
Ethylene oxide
- Under initial vacuum of 50 kPa or higher at 1200 – 1500 grm/m3 at 50 degree Celsius for above for 5 hours
OR
- 1500 grm/m3 at 21 degree Celsius for 24 hours;
OR
Phosphine
- 5 grm/m3 for 120 hours (5 days);
OR
C2N2 (Ethanedinitrile (EDN) / Cyanogen)
- 100 grm/m3 for 24 hours.

Note:
- If stated in the import permit, fumigation must be carried out by AFAS (Australian Fumigation Accreditation Scheme) fumigator. Evidence that fumigator is AFAS approved must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
