All sawn timber must be debarked with a tolerance or allowance of up to 5%.
All timber must be debarked before export to Malaysia.
Exporters must refer to the import permit to determine the required treatment as not all treatment options on Micor Plants will be avaliable on each individual import permit.
Timber which has been heat or kiln dried will require appropriate evidence, including timber thickness, to be presented to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Authorised Officer attesting to the following:
Heat or kiln drying for sawn timber:
For Timber Thickness Less than 200mm:
Once the core temperature has achieved 74 degrees Celsius, treatment duration must exceed 18 hours.
Treatment time does not commence until the temperature and humidity in the chamber has stabilized and the core temperature of the timber has reached a minimum of 74 degrees Celsius.
All timber must have an average moisture content of less than 20%, based on oven-dry weight or mass;
Heat or kiln drying for sawn timber:
For Timber Thickness Less than 200mm:
- Dry bulb temperature in the chamber which has been maintained at or above 74 degrees Celsius .
- 0-25 mm (maximum thickness of timber) for 4 hours;
OR
- 26-50 mm (maximum thickness of timber) for 6 hours;
OR
- 51-75 mm (maximum thickness of timber) for 8 hours;
OR
- 76-100 mm (maximum thickness of timber) for 10 hours ;
OR
- 101-150 mm (maximum thickness of timber) for 14 hours;
OR
- 151-200 mm (maximum thickness of timber) for 188 hours

Heat treatment with a core temperature of consignment maintained at or above 56 degrees Celsuis for a minimum of 30 minutes. Treatment time does not commence until the temperature in the chamber have stabilized and the core temperature of the consignment has reached at least 56 degrees Celsuis.

All the sawn timber must undergo fumigation with methyl bromide at the following rate:
- 21 degrees Celsius or above at 80 grm/m3 for 24 continuous hours;
OR
- 16-20 degrees Celsius or above at 88 grm/m3 for 24 continuous hours;
OR
- 11-15 degrees Celsius or above at 96 grm/m3 for 24 continuous hours;
OR

- 1200 grm/m3 at 50 degrees Celsius for 5 hours;

- All sawn timber must undergo fumigation with phosphine at 5 grm/m3 for 120 hours;
