Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Exporters must confirm with the Malaysian Department of Agriculture if an import permit and phytosanitary certificate is required.

If exporters are not issued an import permit, then a phytosanitary certificate will not be issued.

In such circumstances, prescribed grains will still require inspection and the issuance of an Export Permit.
