Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia if this is indicated as a requirement on the import permit. Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 1225:
  • An area freedom certificate is required as evidence of freedom from Parthenium weed (Parthenium hysterophorus).
Endorsement 1374:
  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required as evidence of freedom from Parthenium weed (Parthenium hysterophorus).
Endorsement 4734:
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from Parthenium weed (Parthenium hysterophorus).
Note: If the import permit does not require an additional declaration, a phytosanitary certificate with nil endorsement will be issued. 

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 1225)
1) Parthenium weed (Parthenium hysterophorus) is not known to occur in the area of production.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 1374)
1) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Parthenium weed (Parthenium hysterophorus).


Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 4734)
1) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Parthenium weed seeds (Parthenium hysterophorus).
