Explanation o the endorsements
Endorsement 535:
For seed produced in Queensland or any other areas where Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus) and Itch grass (Rottboellia cochichinensis) are known to occur, the consignment must be accompanied by either a seed analysis certificate issued by an official seed tesing authority or a Phytosanitary certificate attesting that neither Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus) and Itch grass (Rottboellia cochichinensis) seeds were found in the sample drawn from the consignment being exported.
Endorsement 813:
For seed produced outside Queensland or any other areas where Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus) and Itch grass (Rottboellia cochichinensis) are not known to occur, the consignment must be accompanied by a Phytosanitary certificate attesting that the seed in the consignment was produced in areas where Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus) and Itch grass (Rottboellia cochichinensis) are known not to occur.
Consignments are to be treated with thiram at 4grm a.i/1000grm of seed or any appropriate fungicide at recommended manufacturers requirements;
AND
Followed by fumigation with:
AND
Followed by fumigation with:
- Phosphine at 2grm/m3 for 120 hours;
OR
- Methyl bromide at 24 grm/m3 for 4 hours
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 535)
1) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus) and Itch grass (Rottboellia cochinchinensis).
Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 813)
1) Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus) and Itch grass (Rottboellia cochinchinensis) are known not to occur in the area of production.
