Note:
- The import conditions apply to all species of hay except lucerne and ryegrass.
- An import permit issued by the Department of Agriculture, Sarawak, Malaysia may be required for export to East Malaysia. If so, a phytosanitary certificate with differing endorsements may be issued if required by the import permit, and a copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Explanation of the endorsements
Endorsement 1225:
- An area freedom certificate is required as evidence of freedom from Parthenium weed (Parthenium hysterophorus).
Endorsement 1374:
- A laboratory analysis certificate is required as evidence of freedom from Parthenium weed (Parthenium hysterophorus).
Endorsement 4734:
- Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from Parthenium weed (Parthenium hysterophorus).
Endorsement 2987:
Note: If the import permit does not require an additional declaration, a phytosanitary certificate with nil Endorsement will be issued.
- A laboratory analysis certificate is required as evidence of freedom from Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus).
- Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from Crofton weed (Ageratina adenophora), Alligator weed (Alternanthera philoxeroides), Giant Sensitive plant (Mimosa pigra) and Itch grass (Rottboellia cochinchinensis).
- An area freedom certificate is required as evidence of freedom from Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus) and Itch grass (Rottboellia cochinchinensis).
