Logs must be debarked.
Potato cyst nematode (Globodera rostochiensis) is not on export pathway and Pine wood nematode (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus) is not known to occur in Australia. Freedom from these pests may be endorsed on a phytosanitary certificate without citing supporting evidence.
- 64 grm/m3 at 21 degrees Celsius or above, for 24 hours;
OR
- 72 grm/m3 at 16 - 20 degrees Celsius for 24 hours;
OR
- 80 grm/m3 at 11- 15 degrees Celsius for 24 hours.
If stated in the import permit, fumigation must be carried out by an AFAS (Australian Fumigation Accreditation Scheme) fumigator.
Evidence that the fumigator is AFAS approved must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
