Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.



A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Each consignment is to be fumigated with methyl bromide at:

  • 48 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 21 degrees Celsius or above at NAP;

OR


fumigated with phosphine at:
 
  • 3 grm/m3 at 1 21 degrees Celsius or above for 120 hours at NAP;

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.



If the treatment requirements can not be met then a request to carry out fumigation with a local certified fumigator can be made with Plant Biosecurity Division, Department of Agriculture Malaysia. if the request is accepted evidence will need to be provided to the Grain and Seed Export Program at grain.export@agriculture.gov.au for approval
