Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure that the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.

Explanation of the endorsements:

Endorsement 5912:
  • For seed produced in Queensland or any other areas where Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus) is known to occur.
  • A seed analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus).
Endorsement 5913:
  • For seed produced outside Queensland or any other areas where Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus) are not known to occur, or for seed produced in Queensland in areas where Ragweed are not known to occur.
  • An area freedom certificate is required to endorse freedom from Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus).
Seeds must be treated with one of the following fungicides under recommended manufacturers' requirements:
  • 0.05% Fludioxonil
OR
  • 0.4% Thiram
OR
  • 0.3% Mancozeb
OR
  • 0.25% Benomyl
OR
  • 0.3% Captan
OR
  • 0.1% Metalaxyl
The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 5912)
1) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 5913)
1) Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus) are known not to occur in the area of production.
