All timber must be debarked before export to Malaysia.
- Australian phytosanitary certificates cannot be issued with additional declarations that reference import permit numbers.
- In negotiations with the Malaysian NPPO, it has been agreed that the import permit number indicated in the import permit section of Australian phytosanitary certificates is sufficient for meeting this requirement.
- No text stating the import permit number in either the additional declaration section or the additional product description section is required for clearance, regardless of the statement on Malaysian import permits regarding import permit number printing requirements.
Visual inspection by Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from Eucalyptus borers (Phorocantha spp.).
- 11-15 degrees Celsius at 80 grm/m3 for 24 hours;
- 16-20 degrees Celsius at 72 grm/m3 for 24 hours;
- 21 degrees Celsius and above at 64 grm/m3 for 24 hours;
- The target of the fumigation must not be wrapped in or coated with materials that are impervious to Methyl Bromide.
- All consignment must be separated by a minimum of 5mm of air space in one dimension every 200mm.
- Fumigation Methyl Bromide should not be carried out at temperature below or at 10 degrees Celcius.
- All sawn timber must undergo fumigation with sulphuryl fluoride at 64 grm/m3 for 24 continuous hours at 21 degree Celsius or above at NAP;
All sawn timber must undergo fumigation with Ethylene oxide under initial minimum vacuum of 50 kilopascals at the following rates:
- 1200 grm/m3 at 50 degrees Celsius for 5 hours;
- 1500 grm/m3 for 4 hours at 50 degrees Celsius;
- 1500 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 21 degrees Celsius;
- All sawn timber must undergo fumigation with phosphine at 5 grm/m3 for 120 hours (can also be done during cold season);
- 7 days when commodity temperature is above 25 degree Celsius;
- 10 days when commodity temperature is 15 degree Celsius to 25 degree Celsius;
- 20 days for surface only application in well-sealed structures greater than 375 m3 (300 t capacity).
All fumigation treatments must be ventilated at or below threshold limit value of the fumigant before export.
All treatment must be done by the accredited service provider registered by the NPPO of the exporting country.
