Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure that the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.



Country of origin of the seeds must be clearly labled on all packages.

For all re-export consignments the phytosanitary certificate from the country of origin, or a certified copy of the phytosanitary certificate from the country of origin, must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection. The Authorised Officer must ensure the phytosanitary certificate meets all requirements indicated on the Malaysian import permit.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 6897:

A laboratory testing certificate is required to endorse freedom from Grey mould of onion (Botrytis allii), Neck rot of onion (Ciborinia allii) and Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci).

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Seeds must be treated  with one of the following fungicides.
  • 0.05% Fludioxonil
OR
  • 0.4% Thiram
OR
  • 0.3% Benomyl
OR
  • 0.3% Captan
OR
  • 0.1%Metalaxyl
The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
