Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Consignment is to be accompanied by a certificate of origin or equivalent.

Consignment to be accompanied by certificate of analysis issued by the ISTA or an ISTA accredited laboratory. Certificate must state a seed purity of 97% or higher, contamination of seeds other than Allium spp of less than 0.5% by weight and seed viability of 70% or higher.

Seeds destined as samples for trials or for amateurs are exempted from the certificate of analysis requirement.

Consignment must be attached with exporter's declaration stating that seeds are non-genetically modified and not harmful to humans, animals or the environment.
