Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure that the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.


Explanation of the endorsement

Endorsement 3165:
  • Visual inspection by the Authorised Officer is sufficient as supporting evidence for this endorsement.
  • The Endorsement is only to be used when the import permit specifically requires this statement on the phytosanitary certificate. A phytosanitary certificate with nil additional declaration is to be issued if the import permit does not state this requirement.

1) The seeds in this consignment have been inspected in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free of any visually detectable regulated pests.
