Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 2882:

  • An area freedom certificate for Potato Spindle Tuber Viroid is required as evidence to endorse freedom from this pest.

Endorsement 2883:

  • A laboratory analysis certificate stating that a representative sample has been tested and found free of Potato Spindle Tuber Viroid through PCR test is required to endorse freedom from this pest.

Non-GMO requirements:

If certification is required (refer to import permit/NPPO notification), the exporter is responsible for ensuring that the consignment is accompanied by a Certificate as to Condition attesting that the seed has not been genetically modified.

If requested, a Certificate as to Condition (Grain - GX46/Horticulture - HX46) can be issued for the consignment that is specifically supported from information supplied by the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR) and where it is a government requirement of the importing country for non-GMO certification (refer to import permit/NPPO Notification).

The following text must be added to the additional declaration field when a GX46/HX46 template is added to the RFP:

The Office of the Gene Technology Regulator has advised the department that there has been no intentional release into the Australian environment of genetically modified product(s) listed on this certificate

Consignments not accompanied by non-GMO certification may be cleared at the border after obtaining a laboratory analysis report from a testing institution approved by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 2882)
1) The consignment is sourced from pest free area, places or production sites of Potato Spindle Tuber Viroid by establishing and maintaining the pest free status in accordance with ISPM No. 4 or ISPM No. 10.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 2883)
1) A representative sample was tested and found free of Potato Spindle Tuber Viroid through PCR test.
