Korea's Special Act on Imported Food Safety Management requires all foreign food establishments that produce, manufacture, process, treat and/or store food, plant products including grains, processed plant products and fresh fruit and vegetables for human consumption intended for export to Korea are required to complete a web-based (http://impfood.mfds.go.kr/) registration process.

A foreign food facility as described in the Special Act on Imported Food Safety Management for fresh fruits and vegetables includes growers, packaging and treatment facilities (registered export establishments), etc.

The components of the salad mix must be listed as botanical names (genus and species) on the phytosanitary certificate.

The following vegetables are permitted entry into Korea as components of a salad mix:
  • Brassicas leaves: Tatsoi (Brassica narinosa) 
  • Mizuna (Brassica japonica) 
  • Chard (Beta vulgaris)
  • Red/green lettuce (Lactuca sativa)
  • Snow Pea Tendrils – The pea part (peas and pods) should be removed, as they are prohibited for export to Korea. (Pisum sativum var. macrocarpon)
  • Wild Rocket (Eruca sativa)      
  • Baby Spinach (Spinacia oleracea)

Vegetables are to be washed and packaged in commercial packaging.
