Authorised officers are to ensure exporter compliance with either Option 1 or Option 2 prior to the goods being presented for export inspection.
Option 1:
All barley is screened through a screen with a maximum hole size of 8mm prior to being presented for export inspection.
Option 2:
Exporter to provide Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry with confirmation of compliance with the following specified supply chain measures in the Grains Industry Market Access Forum (GIMAF) industry management plan for all barley presented for export inspection. Confirmation may be in the form of the signed declaration attached.
- Confirmation that the exporter has read and understood the supply chain measures outlined in 'Australian Barley Industry - Supply chain measures to supply barley to the South Korean market' compiled by GIMAF in June 2012. (Refer to GIMAF website https://grainsaustralia.com.au/news/2021/10/gimaf-continues-in-grains-australia).
Note: The Grains Industry Market Access Forum (GIMAF) is now part of Grains Australia Limited (GA).
AND
- Confirmation that the exporter has taken all reasonable steps to ensure that all appropriate parties involved in the supply chain of the barley in the consignment to which this document pertains are aware of the measures referenced in point 1.
AND
- Confirmation that the barley in the consignment to which this document pertains has been sourced from areas where Cernuella virgata is not prevalent and that Cernuella virgata has not been detected at any point in the supply chain;
AND
- Confirmation that the exporter has records of inspection and analysis conducted throughout the supply chain attesting to freedom from Cernuella virgata of the consignment to which this document pertains.
