Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Fruit unable to be certified in accordance with Endorsement 1904 (Fruit fly area freedom) must be treated by an appropriate method effective against fruit fly and no Additional Declaration will apply.

The consignment may be kept in ambient cold storage till the due date for export.

All consignments must be inspected for fruit fly and other insect infestation and if living insects are detected the consignment must undergo treatment either by:

  • fumigation with Methyl bromide at 32 grm/m3 for 2 hours;
OR

  • cold storage at 0 to 10 degrees celsius for 16 days

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 1904)
1) The produce was grown and packed in an area where harmful fruit flies of the family Tephritidae have not been recorded within a radius of 80 km for a period of at least 12 months before the next harvest.
