Packaging - The following material must not be used as packaging: Banana leaves, Maize straw, Rice straw, Sorghum straw, Palm straw, Wheat straw and Leaf mould.

If the import permit requires certification in relation to moisture content, the exporter must provide laboratory test results as evidence that moisture content is not above 13.5%. Certification can be provided on a Certificate as to Condition (GX46) stating that "moisture content is not above 13.5% through laboratory test results". Moisture content will not be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate.
Explanation of the endorsements
Endorsement 3380:
- Leaf freckle (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. Nebraskensis), Sorghum ergot (Claviceps sorghi) and Udbatta disease (Balansia oryzae-sativae) are not known to occur in Australia. No supporting evidence is required to endorse freedom from these pests.
- A crop inspection report is required to endorse freedom from Bacterial blight (Acidovorax avenae), Stackburn disease (Trichoconiella padwickii), Bean bacterial brown spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae) and Target Leaf Spot (Bipolaris sorghicola).
Endorsement 8388:
- Sorghum ergot (Claviceps sorghi) is not known to occur in Australia. No supporting evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
- An area freedom certificate is required to endorse freedom from Grain mould of sorghum (Curvularia lunata).
- Visual inspection by the AO is sufficient to endorse freedom from Saw-toothed beetle (Oryzaephilus surinamensis) and Indian meal moth (Plodia interpunctella).
te: Trichoconiella padwickii is a synonym of Alternaria padwickii.
Consignments are to be treated with an appropriate insecticide and/or fungicide at recommended manufacturer's requirements.

Consignments are to be fumigated with an appropriate fumigant at recommended manufacturer's requirements.
If any other plant residue apart from that prohibited in the general section is used as packaging material, the consignment must be accompanied by a certificate stating: All seed, pathogens and insects have been killed before use of the material either by heating to 82 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes or by chemical treatment.
