Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds andextraneous material, including chaff and/or leaf mould.
Packaging - The followingmaterial must not be used as packaging:
Banana leaves, Maize straw, Rice straw, Sorghum straw, Palm straw, Wheat strawand Leaf mould.
If any other plant residue is used as packaging material, the consignment mustbe accompanied by a certificate stating:
All seed, pathogens and insects have been killed before use of the materialeither by heating to 83 degrees celsius for 10 minutes or by chemicaltreatment.
These details are to be attested on the Phytosanitary certificate.
