Refer to the import permit to determine the appropriate additional declaration. Additional declarations are only to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate if specified on the import permit. When no additional declarations are specified on the import permit, a phytosanitary certificate with no additional declarations is to be issued.
Due to the limited literature available for Lucerne Australian Latent Virus (LALV), a laboratory analysis certificate which endorses freedom from all nepoviruses is sufficient for endorsing freedom from Lucerne Australian Latent Virus (LALV).

The following material must not be used as packaging:
- Banana leaves
- Maize straw
- Rice straw
- Sorghum straw
- Palm straw
- Wheat straw
- Leaf mould.
If any other plant residue is used as packaging material, the consignment must be accompanied by a certificate stating:
- All seed, pathogens and insects have been killed before use of the material either by heating to 83 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes or by chemical treatment.
The heat treatment details for the packaging material are to be endorsed on a phytosanitary certificate. Exporter to provide evidence attesting to the treatment if applied to the packaging material.
Consignments are to be treated with an approved fungicide at recommended manufacturers requirements

2) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from Alfalfa bacterical wilt (Corynebacterium insidiosum), Crown wart of alfalfa (Urophlyctis alfalfae), Leaf spot of lucerne (Cercospora medicaginis) and Black stem & Leafspot (Ascochyta imperfecta).

2) The seed was tested and found to be free from Cucumber Mosaic Virus, Lucerne Australian Latent Virus, Alfalfa Mosaic Virus, Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus) and Lucerne black stem (Phoma medicaginis var. medicaginis).
