A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Packaging - The following material must not be used as packaging:
Banana leaves, Maize straw, Rice straw, Sorghum straw, Palm straw, Wheat straw and Leaf mould.

If any other plant residue is used as packaging material, the consignment must be accompanied by a certificate stating:

All seed, pathogens and insects have been killed before use of the material either by heating to 83 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes or by chemical treatment.

These details are to be attested on the Phytosanitary certificate.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 889:
  • Soybean cyst nematode (Heterodera glycines) is known not to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest
  • A Crop Inspection Certificate is required to endorse freedom from beet bacterial wilt (Corynebacterium flaccumfaciens), American common blight (Xanthomonas campestris pv. phaseoli) and Bean halo blight (Pseudomonas syringae pv phaseolicola).
Endorsement 845:
  • A Crop Inspection Certificate is required to endorse freedom from symptoms of virus disease
Endorsement 7629:
  • Aster yellows virus and Xylella (Xylella fastidiosa) are known not to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from these pests
  • A Laboratory Analysis Certificate is required to endorse freedom from Tomato spotted wilt virus

Consignments are to be treated with an appropriate seed dressing at recommended manufacturers requirements.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 889)

2) The parent plants were inspected during the growing season and found free from Beet bacterial wilt (Corynebacterium flaccumfaciens), American common blight (Xanthomonas campestris pv. phaseoli) and Bean halo blight (Pseudomonas syringae pv phaseolicola).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 845)
1) The parent plants were inspected during active growth and found free of symptoms of virus disease.

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 7629)
1) Aster yellows virus and Xylella (Xylella fastidiosa) are not known to occur in Australia,
2) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Tomato spotted wilt virus.
