Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and to present to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.

Consignment must be labelled with the correct botanical name (genus and species).

Note: Plants may be subject to isolation and quarantine (post entry quarantine requirement) on arrival to Japan.


Explanation of endorsement:

For endorsement 8379:

1) The plants are grown at a place of production or a production site (including aplant growth facility) where Radopholus similis has not beenknown to occur or was known to occur previously but has been eradicated AND The plants are inspected at the place of production or the production siteduring the growing season, and the growing medium and the underground parts ofthe plants are examined by an appropriate nematological test and found to befree from Radopholus similis.

2) The plants randomly taken from a lot and plants with suspected symptoms are tested during the growing season or prior to export by an appropriate genetic method such as RT-PCR assay and found to be free from Potato spindle tuber viroid.
