Firewood that has both the bark and the sapwood removed falls under the exempt items covered by Article 6-1 of MAFF's Import Plant Quarantine Regulation and does not require a Phytosanitary certificate. All other firewood requires a phytosanitary certificate.
Additional Phytosanitary requirements may be required depending on the firewood species, contact MAFF for further clarification.
