Consignments are to be packed and labelled containing the scientific name (Genus and species) of the seed.
The following pests are not on the seed pathway for Zea mays seed. Freedom from these pests maybe endorsed without citing evidence:
- Halo blights of oats (Pseudomonas syringae pv coronfaciens)
- Zonate leaf spot (Gleocercospora sorghi)
A combination of crop inspection at active growth, area of production freedom and lab analysis certificates may be used to endorse freedom from Anthracnose Leaf Blight (Glomerella graminicola),Bacterial leaf stripe of sorghum and corn (Burkholderia andropogonis), Diplodia leaf spot (Stenocarpella macrospora), Stalk rot: Maize (Phaeocytostroma ambiguum).
Note: Glomerella graminicola is synonym of Colletotrichum graminicola.
Consignments are to be treated with an approved fungicide at recommended manufacturer's requirements.
