The consignments are to be properly packed and labelled containing the scientific name (Genus and Species).
Authorised Officer visual inspection of representative sample may be used for endorsing freedom from Cacoa bean weevil (Aracerus fasciculatus).
Broad bean mottle virus is not known to occur in Australia and freedom from this pest may be endorsed without citing any evidence.
Bacterial blight of pea (Pseudomonas syringae pv. pisi) and Halo blight on bean pods (Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. phaseolicola) are not on the export pathway for chickpeas. Freedom from these pests may be endorsed without citing any evidence.
Consignments are to be treated with:
Table 1: Cylinderised Phosphine fumigation schedule (days) for VaporPH3os® and ECO2Fume
- Methyl bromide at 32 grm/m3 at 21 degree Celsius for 24 hours;
OR
- Phosphine gas at 1.5 grm/m3 at temperatures above 15 degrees Celsius for one week (seven days);
OR
- ECO2Fume and Vaporph3OS® as per schedule presented in Table 1.
