Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that the consignment departs no more than 21 days after the phytosanitary certificate is issued. If the phytosanitary certificate is issued after consignment's departure, the departure date must be within 21 days from phytosanitary inspection.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Note: Stagonospora nodorum is a synonym of Phaeosphaeria nodorum. 

Visual inspection by the Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis) and Ergot (Claviceps purpurea).

Explanation of endorsements

Endorsement 5438:
  • Is only applicable when stated on the import permit. A Phytosanitary certificate with no additional declaration will be issued when import permit does not specify certification for freedom from any specific pest.
Endorsement 6953:
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient for endorsing freedom from Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis), Ergot (Claviceps purpurea), Couch grass (Agropyron repens), Black-grass (Alopecurus myosuroides), Onion weed (Asphodelus fistulosus), Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense), Doublegee (Emex australis), Barley flower (Parthenium hysterophorus), Chinese violet (Asystasia gangetica), Colombian wackweed (Cuphea carthagenensis), Praxelis (Praxelis clematidea) and Pigeonberry (Rivina humilis).
  • A laboratory analysis certificate, crop inspection certificate, or a combination of the two is required to endorse freedom from Crown shealth rot (Gaeumannomyces graminis), Glum blotch (Phaeosphaeria nodorum) and Zonate leaf spot (Gloeocercospora sorghi).
  • Bacterial leaf blight (Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae) is not on Cynodon dactylon seed export pathway and no evidence is to be cited for endorsing freedom from this pest.
Endorsement 8322:
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient for endorsing freedom from Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis), Ergot (Claviceps purpurea), Couch grass (Agropyron repens), Black-grass (Alopecurus myosuroides), Onion weed (Asphodelus fistulosus), Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense), Doublegee (Emex australis), Barley flower (Parthenium hysterophorus), Chinese violet (Asystasia gangetica), Colombian wackweed (Cuphea carthagenensis), Praxelis (Praxelis clematidea) and Pigeonberry (Rivina humilis).

Consignments are to be treated inaccordance with the treatment requirements stated on the Import Permit.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Treatment is only to be certified to on Phytosanitary certificates where theimport decree specifically states this requirement. Import decrees sighted inwhich there is no specific treatment details are to be issued with aphytosanitary certificate with no treatment details.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 5438)
1) The consignment is free from Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis), Ergot (Claviceps purpurea), Glum blotch (Phaesphaeria nodorum), Zonate leaf spot (Gleocercospora sorghi) and Bacterial pea blight (Pseudomonas syringae pv. pisi).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 6953)
1) The consignment is free from Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis), Ergot (Claviceps purpurea), Crown shealth rot (Gaeumannomyces graminis), Glum blotch (Phaeosphaeria nodorum), Zonate leaf spot (Gloeocercospora sorghi), Bacterial leaf blight (Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae), Couch grass (Agropyron repens), Black-grass (Alopecurus myosuroides), Onion weed (Asphodelus fistulosus), Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense), Doublegee (Emex australis), Barley flower (Parthenium hysterophorus), Chinese violet (Asystasia gangetica), Colombian wackweed (Cuphea carthagenensis), Praxelis (Praxelis clematidea) and Pigeonberry (Rivina humilis).
