Original and official translation of the Import permit (Decree) must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of making the appointment.

 

It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that the consignment departs no more than 21 days after the phytosanitary certificate is issued. If the phytosanitary certificate is issued after consignment's departure, the departure date must be within 21 days from phytosanitary inspection.



Foot rot (Erwinia chrysanthemi) is not on the Brachiaria decumbens seed export pathway. It is primarily transmitted in soil and growing media. The long distance spread is through infected propagating material. Therefore, freedom from this pest may be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate without citing evidence.

Note: Erwinia chrysanthemi is a synonym of Dickeya zeae.

Explanation of endorsements

Endorsements are only to be used when explicitly stated on the import permit. If no endorsement is required by the import permit, a phytosanitary certificate with no additional declarations is to be issued.

Endorsement 829:

  • Foot rot (Erwinia chrysanthemi) is not on the Brachiaria decumbens seed export pathway. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.

Endorsement 6736:

  • Foot rot (Erwinia chrysanthemi) is not on the Brachiaria decumbens seed export pathway. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient for endorsing freedom from Quack grass (Agropyron repens), Blackgrass (Alopecurus myosuroides), Asphodel (Asphodelus fistulosus), Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense), Doublegee (Emex australis), Ragweed parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus), Philippine violet (Asystasia gangetica), Columbian waxweed (Cuphea carthagenensis), Praxelis (Praxelis clematidea) and Coral berry (Rivina humilis).
     
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Consignments are to be treated inaccordance with the treatment requirements stated on the Import Permit.

Treatment is only to be certified to on Phytosanitary certificates where theimport decree specifically states this requirement. Import decrees sighted inwhich there is no specific treatment details are to be issued with aphytosanitary certificate with no treatment details.
